Delays...delays - July 1, 2008
Well, let me tell you...there's almost always a delay in music production. But this delay is worth the wait. "City Free" was slated to be done and ready for all of you in June. But as you can see, June has come and gone and you haven't heard any news on what's up. The wait has mostly been because my friend and super talented artistic designer, Aaron Hill is helping me out with an entire new look not only for the EP but for this Myspace page and a separate website. And actually, the EP layout is done, as is the music. So now, you and I are just waiting on a launch date for everything else. I'm kind of a stickler about having it all come out and once...I just think it'll be a cooler experience that way.
So in the meantime, do please come out to a show and enjoy the live experience. We've got a new bass player and all the songs on City Free and played live these days.
Also, we've got a great show coming up at The Black Cat on July 9th. It's an early one so come out by 8pm to catch us.
Until then...
Candice~
New EP, Upper East Coast Touring Coming Soon... - May 19, 2008
New EP Slated for Mid-June Release

The "City Free" EP is officially finished and almost ready for your consumption. We are still working on artwork and an entirely new website and myspace layout with the talented, Aaron Hill. The EP features 3 spanking new songs that you may have heard us play live recently. Then there is a bonus track from a new and exciting experimental, multimedia hiphop project that I have the pleasure of being apart of called, The Ebony Bed. The track is called, Skyscraping" and it's definitely a bit different from AlonA but, if you enjoyed the hip hop remix of "The Missing" from the Maelstrom EP, then you will really dig it.
As for City Free, it will initially be an internet only release in Mid-June. Then as we finalize our partnership with DJBoy Records there will be a hard copy release for ya!
European Tour on Hold :(
But Summer East Coast dates coming
East Cost Tour in lieu of Europe
So, I don't know if the rest of you have noticed that the airline prices, the U.S. dollar and the general price for just about anything is totally insane right now. Given that, I begrudgedly have to postpone plans to tour Europe. Instead, I am looking at a short upper east-coast run between here and Montreal in late July. And as always, there are plenty of interesting local shows to consider. For instance, we are playing (and just played) this year's Art-O-Matic festival. If you are unfamiliar it is a must see event in DC featuring hundreds of local visual, musical, and theatrical artists. This year they have taken over a higher level office building just north of the U.S. Capital. You can take in some interesting art and music and a great "high rise" view of DC.

NYC Bound! - March 12, 2008
AlonA is finally starting to take the show on the road this year. We are debuting in NYC at The Baggot Inn in Greenwich Village. It's a smaller bar but in the heart of the Village. A great night is promised and there is a possibilities of an add-on show for the weekend at another great spot in Brooklyn called Vox Cafe. Most likely, this would be an acoustic prelude to the show Sat. night.
So if you've got people up that way, forward this letter (see the link at the very bottom) to them and send them to the website and get them out to the show! Or better yet, you come with! We need all the heads we can get to help us represent AlonA and the DC music scene so we can get invited back for another performance.
Bring out 5 or more friends, and we'll bring you up to NYC when we return on our dime! Yes, I am totally serious. For the second trip up, I'm hiring a party bus!
